The 2026 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) is largely a carryover model with minor updates, with the key update being the introduction of the new Nightshade Edition trim.

The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid hatchback is available in four trims: SE, Nightshade, XSE, and XSE Premium, powered by a 2L 4-cylinder engine producing 150 horsepower with 139 lb.-ft of torque, mated to a 2-speed CVT transmission. The Toyota Prius PHEV greatest strength is its lack of compromise. While the Kia Niro PHEV is its closest rival, the Toyota Prius PHEV remains the benchmark, offering 11 miles of additional electric range, superior fuel economy, and more passing power.
