Honda Civic Hatchback
The 2025 Honda Civic is offered as a sedan or a hatchback and new for 2025 is the addition of the hybrid powertrain which adds two electric motors and bumps up the torque numbers to 232 pound-feet of torque, the most a non-Type-R Civic has produced. The Si is only available as a sedan and produces 200 horsepower out of its 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder engine, which of course comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. In addition, the Civic Hybrids can make use of the regenerative braking system with 4-levels available to use through sport paddles. The Civic is powered by either a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that produces 150-horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque or the newly added hybrid powertrain which produces 200-horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. Handling overall has been improved by better spring and damper tuning.
The Civic Sedan is available in four trims LX, Sport, the Hybrid Sport and Civic Hybrid Sport Touring, while the hatchback trims consist of the Sport, civic hybrid sport, and Civic Hybrid Sport Touring. The Civic Si is only available in one Base trim.
The Honda Civic is well equipped, especially now that it even offers a hybrid powertrain. It includes newly refreshed full LED headlights, auto-high beams, automatic climate control, push-button start, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and CVT transmission. A 6-speed manual transmission is available for the Civic Si.
The Sport trim adds some exterior styling finishes like a black window trim and dark headlamps, 18-inch aluminum wheels, remote start, proximity keyless entry, Sport drive mode, leather steering and shift-knob, paddle shifters, and an 8-speaker system.
The Sport Hybrid trim adds the 200-horsepower powertrain with 232 pound-feet of torque, one touch power moonroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control.
The Sport Touring trim features 18-inch wheels with gray inserts, leather seating, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a wireless phone charger. Google built-in is also a new addition that will be standard for the Sport Touring Hybrid trim. Having google built in includes other services like google assistant, google maps, and access to the google play app.
The Si is very similar to the Touring adding specific features such as 200 horsepower from the 1.5L turbo engine, 6-speed manual transmission with rev-matching downshifts, limited slip front differential, bigger brakes, performance all-season tires, and Si sport seats. This year Honda also made the chassis stiffer. A 9-inch touchscreen also comes standard, with a one touch moonroof, the Bose sound system, and google built-in.
Safety continues to be paramount in the new Civic, and new for 2025, is the addition of blind spot warning and Rear Collision warning on the sedan, hatchback and hybrid sport trims. The Civic still includes ten airbags, low tire pressure warning, backup camera and stability control.
The Honda Sensing system is also standard adding a suite of safety features that includes Lane Keep Assist which will monitor and can even nudge the vehicle back into its lane, forward collision mitigation that will detect an impending accident and can even apply the brakes in certain scenarios, automatic high beams, traffic sign reader, and driver attention monitor.
