It is powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder engine with a turbocharger that produces 178 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft of torque which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. When combined with the electric motor, the maximum horsepower produced jumps to 268 with 271 lb.-ft of torque. Alongside this, the Tucson Plug-In Hybrid can travel 33 miles in the all-electric mode. The Plug-in Hybrid Tucson has a charging time of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes using a 240-volt Level 2 Charger.
